This is my new home. Grab something from the ‘fridge, have some snacks, glad you could make it.
First things first, this is not a Warcraft-blog. We may mention WoW, but that’s not the thrust here. This is about everything in my life that’s important: God, family, love, writing, and being a loud-mouthed schnook.
The favicon? That’s the only hold-over from the old place. I’m allowed a little sentimentality, yes?
I’m noticing that I’m having a difficult time switching from We to I. Bear with me; it’ll happen.
There’s not going to be any schedule, no daily-post, no spending hours and hours working on material. I might use this place as a sounding board for my book, though, so be warned. There’s lots to do still, especially links and pictures and knick-knacks. Again, please be patient as I make this place into a home.
So here we go!

Set free back into the big bright world of RL, time to see what else you can do beardy wierdy – dont forget, were all watching you (que evil laugh)! GL
Yay! I still get to read and enjoy random ramblings! Oh, by the way. Not sure if the lights are out at the BRK place, but I checked the fridge and you’re out of corn nuts.
I’m really, really glad you’ve started another blog and let us know about it. I’ve come to enjoy reading what you write and I’m glad you’re going to continue in some form. Good luck with keeping everything balanced!
The Airman Howell stories are what kept me coming back to the BigRed Kitty blog as much as the hunter advise so i am glad you are still blogging.
Good luck for all your future endeavours
Yay, I am soooo glad your still blogging. Lets face it, WoW is nothing without people, and your one of the main reasons I am still playing.
So I am really glad I still get to enjoy your sarcasm, humor and intellect!
-Lee
Great to see you’ll still be writing – the WoW stuff got almost incidental towards the end anyway.
You – check
Brain – check
Us – check
Carry on, airman.
Yeah – my favorite blogger is still at it. Welcome back brain….. oh and ‘ello Daniel guess you have to come too
Hi Daniel,
Hope you and the rest of the Howell clan have a wonderful Easter.
I’m also glad you will still be blogging. Also glad you have what is most important in your life. I do believe I will be stopping by from time to time to catchup with what is going on in your life. LOL
Daniel, will we finally get to see the man behind the beard now?
Happy Easter to you and yours.
This means we get more Airman Howell-stories? yeay! Just lemme exchange the sage-feed and let’s go
Glad to find out that the roller coaster ride still has a few hills left! Hands up!
Yay! I’m so glad you will continue your posts. I looked forward to them every day and really missed them this past week. I never was a big raiding/pvp-er type player and really read your posts for the humor and I just really enjoy your style.
So, welcome back!
So glad to see you still around
I am laughing so hard at that airman howell story above. Getting strange looks from office bods

All I have to say is Thank You!

Glad to see you are still writing. I admire what you have done, and I look forward to reading more.
Thanks for the welcoming. I grabbed a dwarven ale, it was the last one, sorry and thanks.
Looking forward to pondering your musings and contributing my own.
Thank you for the invite! I love what you’ve done with the place.
Glad to see you’re continuing to blog. I was a big fan of BRK, but it was the quality of the writing that kept me coming back (I don’t really play a hunter).
BRK,
Live and love are great things. I am glad you are sharing them with us.
Das
Umm, sorry, hard to switch as well, I meant DANIEL, not BRM
ummmmm, then…..ANAM not DASBIEST
Hard for all of us Daniel
We still have a place to be, YAY!!!
I wasn’t sure before but I am now. I really don’t care what you right about. I just enjoy it whether it’s WoW, Airman Howell, or this dphowell person. I’ll be a regular reader and look forward to your (hopefully to be written) book.
Hey Glad to see you found a new home. Although I’ll miss the old one, I’m glad I can still find you at least in some capacity.
Now on to more important matters, which would you buy first with badges the…oh OK I’ll go else where with my questions..
Just glad to be able to keep reading your posts.
Hey there D,
Just wanted to say that I’m so glad that you’ve continued writing. All though you were my go to source for all things hunter, it was definitely the quality of your writing and your humor that kept me coming back everyday. Keep up the amazing work and enjoy the new found freedom you’ve found in your life. =)
Hey Daniel,
I’m really pleased to see that you’re still writing, undeniably you have a talent for it.
Hope all is well and I’ll be looking forward to your posts, as and when RL allows you to write them.
All the best
Hey Daniel,
Space looks nice, I can’t wait to read more.
Cya
Thrilled to see that you will still be writing and thanks for teaching me how to cook a steak!
Cheers!!!
Good to see the man behind the hunter, rarely do we meet the person playing the toons. Glad to see you’re doing well in your life; may it remain so forever.
Im really happy to see this RL continuation of your ramblings. I’ll be sitting in that corner over there with a beer, listening. /salute
I was inspired by you and a few others to start my own blog. Right around the time you left the BRK blog I started taking some time off raiding on my druid, and I’ve come to realize something… a LOT of time is spent playing an online game when ideally it should be spent with family, friends, and focusing on real life. I left my old guild, joined a newer smaller one, and I honestly don’t have much of a desire to raid on any of my characters anymore. It took hearing your story and facing up to some of my own issues to realize that I need to look at my priorities. I will still run around on my alts, and I may still raid a bit when Ulduar comes out… but real life comes first. I know the lessons you have learned through your experience must have been difficult, and I’m having a bit of a hard time realizing what I’ve done (or may have lost) over the last few years. They are hard lessons, but I think we are better off for having learned them now rather than later. It was always a pleasure to read your blog, and I will continue to keep up with this one. Your sense of humor and sarcasm are not to be missed. And your voice is one in a million… hope we get a few Daniel Howell podcasts every once in a while! Best wishes to you, now and always, no matter where you are. =)
Glad you decided to stick with blogging. I was going thru withdraw!
Glad to see you, I am tring to follow your example and slow down on WoW. Can’t wait to read what you have to say. Maybe one day you will have another podcast as well
Daniel- My very best wishes to you, as you certainly deserve it. I have been a big fan, and bought shirts, etc. and I can certainly understand your situation. Nothing in life is more important than family. I will still continue to be a fan. I have let my father — who was in the AF — read your stories. My goodness, have you made a fan. He sits here at my computer and just cackles. He stil doesn’t quite understand how we know each other– (he just believes you are one of our friends– fine by me!), but afterall he is 79 years old.
I enjoy your views on life. I enjoy your stories. It is my fervent wish for you that you find peace- and fulfillment. God Bless You Daniel
Forever grateful-
Tama
SO happy you’re still blogging, even if it’s not hunter goodies…I look forward to many future laughs from you…and sign me up for a copy of that book!
Reading this made me very happy. I just got back from a week-long road trip with my wife and 6 month old daughter. Looking at my /played and realizing its 1/3 of my daughter’s life, and reading your farewell post were some of the things that helped me get perspective. Thanks for that. Good luck on the book, and I’m looking forward to reading more on this blog.
PS the fridge is starting to smell, you might want to ask TJ to get rid of those old talbuk steaks.
Hi Daniel. I am glad you have another blog to follow. As a literary agent and editor please feel free to use me as a sounding board for your book at any time. Miss you over at BRK, but completely understand the reasoning and support you 110%!
D! Well, not much to say, all the others have said it for me. I think I’ll say I’m glad you come back with another blog, but it’ll sound redundant. So, I’ll say that we’ll help you to make this thingy your new home ^^.
Hope you don’t forget Hobbes !
Good luck on your new digs
Sounds like a fun endeavor.
