ah now you’ve done it, i dont what the traffic is like on your personal blog compared to BRK, but im pretty sure i wont be far off. I remember the last time you linked a blog in a post encouraging folks to check it out, that blog got a lot of attention from your loyal followers.

I think it’s great to share funny stories even if it’s about something that’s sad like Divorce. Just because it’s not a fun experience doesn’t mean you can’t smile or laugh at some of the silly things people do to themselves. Is it any different than laughing at videos of people doing stupid yet funny things that probably hurt them physically while skateboarding, racing, etc?

I shared his blog with my buddies. It was great!

hmmm…I’m actually EXTREMELY hesitate to comment because, while I have been “blog lurking” for some time I have only recently “popped my cherry” and commented anywhere…now it seems like I feel the need to do so ALL the time (despite years of being able to keep my trap shut! ;/)

Anyways *jumping into the fire* I think it’s great you are helping out a …well, a friend or whatever…BUT I have to admit to major ‘hesitancies’ with the whole divorce stories thing. This guy needs to be a) good – no, lets be honest, given his chosen topic, he needs to be GREAT; and b) he seriously needs to understand the word DISCRETE.

I will reserve judgment, but you’re endorsing him…so, is he good? does he understand what it means to protect those who approach him professionally? Or will your little story find its way to the interwebs in a form you were/are not prepared for…will you be, in a year or two, the guy for whom the orangutan story didn’t work out so well for -(go on, take a moment, be THAT guy reading reading THIS post…ready to find the nearest bridge???) How’s his mom feeling? His dad? sister?

Now, I SO get I am exaggerating a point here…but I am only doing so in order to make it.

Definitely very very funny. Despite what many think, “John’s” problems were brought on by no one but himself. He could have gotten his life in order but he chose to sit there with three apes that didn’t know what divorce meant or how to deal with a sudden shift in family life like that. We’re all responsible for our own choices.

That being said, it’s awesome that you’re helping him with his new blog and I’m eager to see more divorce stories as I’m SURE there are plenty out there to be told.

So, you think your divorce attorney is your friend. I will be curious to see how you feel about him and his profession by the time everything is finalized and you have the bill. Most people I know – 5-figure bill, incompetent work, and those friendly chats – oops, billed every 6 minutes for them. Maybe you’ve found an exception. Here’s hoping.

Hey Daniel – here are some suggestions for your friend. First, he should join Technolawyer if he isn’t already a member (technolawyer.com). The legal community there can be really helpful, and if he can get mentioned in their weekly “blawgworld” article, so much the better.
