You understand that a Smart Car is basically a rollcage on wheels. Your 350z would be crushed before the smart car ever gave in.

I drove a smart car in Italy for two weeks. It was a blast. It easily took two adults and all our luggage everywhere we wanted to go, and we drove a lot, including on the autobahn. I think the top speed was about 80 mph, but I really didn’t have any problems with it. It was stupidly easy to park, too.

I can’t speak to the crashworthyness of them, as I didn’t crash mine; and I don’t give a lot of credence to anecdotes of their deadliness – real safety statistics from a reliable source are another matter.

I do know it was a lot of fun to drive and it hauled a lot more cargo than I ever would have thought.

Oh, BTW, I’m 6′1″ and had plenty of leg and head room.

@Shagrat: I do believe Achmed was referring to a Honda Prius rather than the smart car when he made that comment.

Smart cars are awesome. Don’t diss. I’d drive one myself if they weren’t so much on the unaccommodating side for a 6′2″ individual.

My brothers co-worker was killed while driving and ’smart’ car last month after he hit a deer. Smart is the new dangerous, apparently.

It’s a 1.0 liter engine. Am I impressed? Not really.
Buy a Honda, get a trunk and a back seat. Be able to take more than one person with you.
It also says it takes 12.8 seconds (0-60mph)
If you have a watch on right now…count off 12 seconds for me. Then laugh and say.. “WOW THAT’S SLOW”.
Forgive me, Smart Car owner if I pass you on the on ramp and give you the finger. Your car is slow and you paid too much for it.
